The STI explained that, given the meetings held between professionals and other departments, such as Health, Internal Administration, Justice, Education and Defense, it intends to make a similar effort with “the workers of the Tax and Customs Authority who did not see their careers valued in 2023″.

The Tax Workers Union (STI) said, this Friday, that it wants to urgently meet with the Minister of State and Finance, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento.

In a statement sent to members, the STI explained that, given the meetings held between professionals and other departments, such as Health, Internal Administration, Justice, Education and Defense, it intends to make a similar effort towards “the workers from the Tax and Customs Authority who did not see their careers valued in 2023, as happened with the general career of senior technicians, the medical career, the IT career”.

The union stressed that it is strange that Miranda Sarmento “has not already called the workers’ representatives to meet”.

Thus, the STI requested “an urgent meeting with Joaquim Miranda Sarmento to “find out the Government’s intentions, in relation to the workers who keep the Tax and Customs Authority functioning, despite the enormous existing constraints”.
