Pay almost a thousand euros to vote? Yes, this happens in FC Porto elections. At least, judging by the testimony of a fan on the social network X, formerly Twitter.
André Oliveira revealed that he paid a small fortune to be able to vote.
«On a random day in 2016 I became a member of FC Porto. Despite not being a regular at the stadium, I knew that one day this condition would be important. So it was. That day is today. I paid 946 euros in outstanding fees to risk potentially getting screwed. But it’s done! I trust it will be worth it. Let’s go Porto!”, wrote the fan.
The elections take place this Saturday and pit Pinto da Costa, André Villas-Boas and Nuno Lobo face to face. By 6:30 pm, an hour and a half before the polls closed, more than 24 thousand supporters had exercised their right to vote.
