After speaking to journalists confirming that he would watch the classic later on from the stands, rejecting Pinto da Costa’s invitation to watch the game with Sporting from the stand, Villas-Boas left a message of thanks to the members.
“Yesterday we had a historic night. We honored our club with the biggest vote ever! Thank you to everyone who allowed yesterday’s election to be an example of democracy and freedom. Thank you to those who went to vote, and a special thank you to all table delegates and all club employees, who created the conditions for us to have an exemplary electoral process!”
A huge thank you to those who were side by side with me on this journey: to the candidates for governing bodies, the support teams and all the volunteers. Finally, yesterday’s victory was only possible with the massive support of FC Porto members, fans and supporters in Portugal and abroad! It was your strength that gave me the energy and confidence to celebrate our club in this special way today. Thank you very much to everyone!
