An accident involving a tourist bus left 4 dead and 32 injured on Saturday night, the 27th, in Medina, located in Vale do Jequitinhonha, in Minas Gerais. According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the bus, which was carrying 54 people, overturned on BR-116, in an area known as the “death curve”. The information is from Inter TV.

The vehicle departed from Caruaru, in Pernambuco, heading to the capital of São Paulo, when the accident occurred. Among the fatal victims, three were women, in addition to one man. Of the 32 injured, two are in a more serious condition and should be transferred this Sunday, the 28th, to a hospital in Teófilo Otoni.

According to information from the PRF, the bus driver lost control of the steering wheel, resulting in the bus colliding with a protective wall on the side of the road, followed by the bus overturning on the road.

The Fire Department and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) also provided assistance to the victims. The injured were taken to two hospitals in the region: Hospital Santa Rita, in Medina, and Hospital Vale do Jequitinhonha, in Itaobim.
