Four people die and a baby is injured in a serious accident on BR-116 in SC

An accident on BR-116 left four people dead and a two-year-old baby seriously injured. The crash happened around 7:30 pm on Sunday (28) at Km 63 of the highway, a stretch that is in the city Papanduva, in Northern Santa Catarina Plateau. According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the head-on crash involved three vehicles.

According to the Military Fire Department, three of the four fatal victims of the accident were in a white Onix. The driver was found dead and two other people were rescued. A man and a woman were taken to hospitals in the region, however, they did not survive their injuries and died in the health units.

Witnesses who were at the scene also told rescuers that a two-year-old baby was inside the car and that some people had rescued him and taken the child to the hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the Fiat Palio, another car that was involved in the crash, was also found dead. The two people who were in the Hyundai Azera were not injured.

The dynamics of the accident and the identity of the victims were not disclosed.
