Marielle case: Lawyers ask STF to hear Rivaldo about murder | Police | MIDDLE NORTH

-

Lawyers for those suspected of planning the murder of Marielle Franco requested the Federal Court of Justice (STF) to hear the testimony from delegate Rivaldo Barbosa. The request, addressed to the minister Alexandre de Moraesalso includes the request that Erika Araújo, Rivaldo’s wife, be questioned in the process.

STILL ARRESTED: Rivaldo, former police chief of Rio de Janeiro, is detained and is being investigated for his alleged participation in planning the crime and for obstruction of investigations. His wife is accused of using companies to launder money and is also the target of investigations for crimes of criminal organization and passive corruption.

TESTIMONIAL: Lawyers argue that, even after more than a month in prison, Rivaldo has still not been heard, and there is no forecast for this to happen. They argue that the The police chief’s testimony could clarify his innocencepresenting documentation that proves the non-existence of shell companies in its name.

INVESTIGATED: Furthermore, they request a review of the measures against Erika, alleging a lack of evidence that proves illegal practices in their companies and asset development.

“There is no probative or at least indicative basis in the sense that there have been illicit practices in the provision of services carried out by ERIKA’s companies, much less that their equity development is related to illegal income”, maintains the defense.

Second report from Federal police, Rivaldo received “allowance” for not investigating murder crimes at the Rio de Janeiro Homicide Police Station, which raises suspicions of corruption. Investigations indicate a routine of paying bribes to obstruct processes, with amounts between R$60,000 and R$80,000.
