In the United States, a cat survived six days without water or food after being accidentally sent in an Amazon package
When the owners of cat Galena realized their pet was missing, they could never imagine that she it was 1,000 miles away. A family from the United States, residing in Lehi, Utah, had accidentally sent the feline to California in an Amazon return package.
Galena, a six-year-old cat, got into a package that her guardian couple was sending, and ended up going unnoticed by them. So she embarked on a six-day journey, without access to water or food. Her dangerous journey only came to an end when an Amazon shipping employee found her among the packages and took her to a veterinarian.
At the clinic, the family’s anguish over Galena’s disappearance finally ended when a microchip with the guardian’s information was scannedas reported by the newspaper O Globo.

“It was the most incredible and insane news in the world,” he recalled. Carrie Clark, owner of the cat, in an interview with a local TV channel. The owner also admitted that, initially, she didn’t believe the veterinarian’s call, and even thought she was playing a prank.
Clark explained that Galena’s love for boxes is a personality trait, helping to understand the incident. After receiving news of the cat’s location, she and her husband they boarded a flight to California to retrieve the feline.
“It was an incredible reunion. Galena stopped shaking instantly and relaxed in my arms when I could hold her again,” said the owner. After the scare, she asks ‘mothers and fathers’ of pets to check the inside of the box several times that will be sent by mail.
