The Castelo Branco Athletics Association (AACB) was represented by two under-14 athletes, Cristiana Serrano from NJC Proença-a-Nova and Miguel Valdez from Estrela Campo de Aviação FC and two under-16 athletes, Madalena Silva and Simão Abrantes, both from GCA Donas.
Miguel Valdez, with 2645 points, returned with the gold medal and Cristiana Serrano finished the two days of competition in 15th place, with 1918 points. Madalena Silva took 9th place with 3497 points and Simão Abrantes added 2402 points, finishing the race in 19th place. Collectively, AACB ranked 10th.
This competition is aimed at training levels, in the form of combined events and each district team consists of four athletes. The pentathlon is reserved for under-14 athletes, which corresponds to the 60 meter flat, 60 meter hurdles, long jump, shot put and 1000 meter events.
The under-16 athletes compete in the heptathlon, consisting of the 80 meter flat, 80 meter hurdles, javelin throw, shot put, long jump, high jump and 800 meter events.
Under-16 male athletes also perform seven events, but they differ in the hurdles event (100 meter hurdles) and the endurance event (1000 meters).
