Known for his career as a songwriter and singer, Jon Bon Jovi surprised his legion of fans when he recalled the beginning of his career and admitted that he “got away with murder.” The artist also detailed the height of his own golden years in the 1980s and his wife’s partnership during that period.

“I got away with murder,” the musician told former American football player Michael Strahan in the “Halfway There” special interview, shown on the United States global television station, ABC. Furthermore, he commented on his 35-year marriage to Dorothea Hurley, who also dated him in his youth.

“I’m a rock and roll star, I’m not a saint. Come on, I’m not saying there haven’t been 100 girls in my life. After all, I am Jon Bon Jovi. But I can say that everything was great,” he explained.

The singer and Dorothea were married in 1989 at the Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas. They are parents to Jacob, Stephanie Rose, Jesse and Romeo. Although they got married in the 90s, they have been together since 1980.

“I have no doubt that this world turns because of her [Dorothea]. Because of what she did to keep the kids okay, what she does to keep me okay, what we do together to keep everything okay. I have no doubt about that,” he added.

“She’s definitely not afraid to criticize me or call me out on something, but she’s also there when I fall and need her help. And I’ll be there to help her when she falls. No matter where I’ve been in my career, through good times and bad, we’ve been together,” he added, who has had a relationship with his wife since he was in high school.
