I bet you’ve seen bizarre supercar accidents around the world. The recipe is almost always the same. The driver tries to be funny, loses control and crashes.. And that’s exactly what happened to a rare McLaren Senna on a road in Los Angeles (United States). The car is valued at US$1.5 million (R$7.8 million, in direct conversion).

After doing a “zerinho” (maneuver in which the car turns on its own axis) on a public road, the driver continues accelerating and burning tires until he loses controlinvade the sidewalk and crash into the window of a Lexus dealership on the right side of the road.

In the video published on Instagram, it is not possible to see the damage caused to the building or car. However, there was certainly damage to the front and wheels of the McLaren Senna.

Apparently, the driver was not injured. Some media outlets say that the driver is YouTuber Edmond ‘Mondi’ Barseghian, who became known at the end of 2022 for, amazingly, destroying a Hummer EV with just 15 km driven.

What is the McLaren Senna like?

The McLaren Senna is the British brand’s most extreme model released for the streets. It is a clear tribute to the three-time Formula 1 champion, whose death turns 30 next Wednesday (1). Launched in 2017, production was limited to 500 copies, which makes the accident in the United States even more bizarre.

The supercar was created with a simple objective: to be the best homologated McLaren for the streets It has an engine 4.0 V8 biturbo with 800 hp and 80 kgfm. In terms of performance, it is less powerful than the P1 with its insane 915 hp.

However, as it is extremely light, weighing just 1,198kg, the McLaren Senna has stunning performance. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 6.8 seconds, a better mark than the overwhelming majority of “common” cars take to reach “just” 100 km/h. The maximum speed is 320 km/h.
