On another night of heavy rain in the region, teams from the Gramado Fire Department and Civil Defense are working to respond to incidents. According to official information, to date, no incidents involving serious injuries have been recorded.
There were dozens of calls to the Fire Department garrisons. Around 6 pm on Monday (29), a car and a truck collided, on the RS-115, near the Várzea Grande neighborhood, due to the storm and low visibility. According to the incident, the victims were not trapped in the wreckage and received assistance at the scene.
“Also at night, calls were received about flooding in homes and people were trapped due to the build-up of water levels in homes in the Moura and Várzea Grande neighborhoods,” says the captain of the Gramado Fire Department, Pedro Sanhudo.
Tree falls also occurred, but without hitting houses. “We had a landslide in the Moura neighborhood, but without property damage or risk to life, just a part of the mass that moved”, reports the captain, highlighting that the place was isolated and residents were advised to avoid traveling through the area. .
“Our emergency lines, through 193, are available to the community for floods, landslides, mass movements and pre-hospital care. The recommendation in cases of flooding in homes is, whenever possible, to remove household appliances from the sockets and close the gas valves to prevent leaks”, instructs Sanhudo.
The captain also adds, asking the community to avoid traveling in places with a lot of vegetation, due to the possibility of falling trees.
