Curitiba and Pato Branco, in the Southwest of Paraná, received maximum recognition in the CSC Govtech Seal award, carried out by the Connected Smart Cities Platform in partnership with EXXAS. Divided into four categories, the award recognizes municipalities that implement exemplary governance practices in their innovation ecosystems.

The two cities in Paraná received the Gold Seal at the awards ceremony held on Monday night (29) in São Paulo. In addition to them, Florianópolis (SC) and Natal (RN) were at the top of the list of 50 municipalities evaluated for the award.

Other cities in Paraná were also included. Apucarana, Assaí, Cascavel, Londrina and Maringá received the Silver Seal. Rolândia, in the north of the state, received the Aspirant Seal.

The Gold Seal is awarded to cities that have achieved excellence in governance practices and sustainable results; the Silver category includes municipalities that have already achieved good governance practices in their innovation ecosystems and whose results are still emerging. Cities that have the desire to achieve these good practices, but are still unable to identify them, are considered Aspiring. The award also includes the Bronze Seal.

CSC Govtech seal

The CSC Govtech Seal was designed to encourage and recognize municipalities that adopt exemplary governance practices in their innovation ecosystems. The initiative seeks to drive improvements in municipal management, promote transparency, cooperation and active participation of all stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem. The objective is not only to raise the standard of governance, but also to stimulate the sustainable and inclusive development of cities.

To evaluate municipalities, the award defined five thematic axes that characterize innovation practices in municipal ecosystems: Innovation policies and strategies; Participation and collaboration of stakeholders (governments, educational institutions, companies, civil society and environmental representatives); Transparency and access to information; Culture of innovation; and Environment and innovation results.

The delivery of the CSC Govtech Seal was part of the CSC GovTech event, which aims to promote modernization and innovation in the government sector. The conference brought together thousands of participants who were able to check out, throughout this Monday, 8 content areas, with 100 speakers. Among the themes, the event addressed issues such as innovation; artificial intelligence; connectivity; accessibility, inclusion and digital citizenship. ethics, governance and responsibility; sustainability; technological education; cybersecurity; and environmental technology.

The president of the Curitiba Development and Innovation Agency, Dario Paixão, received the Gold Seal certificate at the awards ceremony. Paixão was also one of the speakers at the event.
