A 44-year-old driver was arrested after fleeing the scene of an accident on BR-259, in Governador Valadares, on Wednesday night (1st). Isabella Gomes de Oliveira Silva, 38 years old, was riding a motorcycle when it collided with the car the man was driving, and died instantly.
According to the police report, when the police arrived at the scene, Isabella was lying on the side of the highway. After the crash, the victim had his left leg torn off. It was also possible to see that the accident happened at the exit of a curve.
According to the military, the motorcycle was traveling in the increasing direction of the road when it was hit by the car, which was traveling in the opposite direction. With the force of the impact, the motorcycle was thrown to the side of the highway, the helmet that Isabella was wearing ended up in a forested area, also on the side of the BR. The victim had his left leg torn off.
Still according to the police report, after the accident, the driver of the car fled for 5km until he was forced by witnesses to stop, at the entrance to the Conjunto Sir neighborhood, where he remained until he was arrested for the crime of failing to provide assistance and for leaving the scene of the accident. .
The vehicle had damage to the front tire resulting from the accident, which made movement difficult.
The driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test, which came back negative for alcohol use.
In consulting the system, PMRv found that Isabella was disqualified, and the motorcycle was not licensed.
The victim worked at the former SAAE in Governador Valadares, and the city hall released a note of condolence on social media.
