In an interview given this Thursday morning (02), Delegate Fabiano Mozza, from the Cascavel Homicide Police Station, detailed the response to a death incident recorded on Rua Antônio Pexe, in Conjunto Riviera.
The victim, identified as Adriana Mendes, aged 45, was brutally murdered after a disagreement with her partner, last night, Wednesday (01).
According to the police chief, the couple had only been together for four days and, during an argument, they were attacked with a knife. The man, whose name was not revealed, allegedly took possession of the object and delivered fatal blows to Adriana, hitting the chest area.
Despite the quick mobilization of the corporation’s doctor, the emergency team arrived at the scene only to find the woman dead. The crime scene, a cruel portrait of domestic violence, shocked even seasoned public safety professionals.
Shortly after the crime, the suspect was located and arrested by the Municipal Guard. The case is being treated as femicide by local authorities, reinforcing the seriousness of the incident. The murder weapon, the knife used to take Adriana’s life, was found nearby.
The Homicide Police believe that the crime was committed premeditated, as the perpetrator had taken his belongings to escape and plan to kill his partner.
The victim’s body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) and, later, released for family members to carry out the funeral.
