The 17-year-old Portuguese man whom the Judiciary Police detained on Thursday in Santa Maria da Feira, for being the mentor, via the Internet, of a group in support of Nazism and mass murders in Brazilian schools – having instructed the death of a teenager in October, in São Paulo, and four other unsuccessful attacks – he was planning, also in Brazil, “a homicide with a hint of the long suffering of a beggar, in which these images would be transmitted in the cyber environment and in which each assistant would pay a certain amount”, revealed this Friday Luís Neves, national director of the PJ.

Luís Neves states that other crimes that the Portuguese were promoting were stopped, with “more deaths, more young people, more schools attacked, more mass crimes, more human suffering”. The young man, a student and who lived with his parents, in whose house he had the computer from which he manipulated the group created on the social network Discord, had the profile of a mentor for that online community: “Enormous leadership capacity to move other young people of identical ages, especially Brazilians, in the sense of radicalizing others, of self-mutilating, of committing crimes”, says Luís Neves.

Arriving at identity was “finding a needle in a haystack”, a “time-consuming and filigree” work since Brazil’s alert at the end of 2023. Presented before a judge, the young man is in preventive detention.KNOW MOREINTERNET MUTILATION
The detainee shared live broadcasts of animal mutilation and death, of young people drinking detergent and mutilating themselves with sharp objects. He gave advice on how to act and dress when committing crimes.SOCIAL ISOLATION COUNCILLuís Neves warned families to pay “greater attention” to young people and the risks of their social isolation. The PJ will try to “identify other agents from this group and other agents who commit crimes of the same type”.
