Despite the visible injury, Norris is expected to take part in the Miami Grand Prix, which starts on Friday.

Lando Norris was seen with his face bandaged after injuring himself during his free time in Amsterdam.

The British driver, who was off duty in the Dutch capital, suffered the accident just before the next Miami Grand Prix.

According to reports, Norris went to Amsterdam to take part in the Koningsdag (King’s Day) celebrations, where he suffered a cut to his face caused by broken glass while having fun on a boat.

Despite the obvious injury, Norris is expected to compete in the Miami Grand Prix, which begins on Friday.

His participation in the trio of races in the United States follows a strong start to the 2024 Formula 1 season.

Currently sitting fifth in the driver standings, Norris has achieved two podiums in the first five races.

His recent success includes a second place at the Chinese GP, with his aim for the current season focused on achieving a victory of his own.

Expressing his aspirations, Norris stated: “I believe I can win a championship at McLaren, which is why I have signed another contract.

“I definitely think I can challenge Max and give him a good fight.”

He acknowledged Max Verstappen’s formidable abilities, emphasizing the difficulty of competing against him for the championship.

Addressing the possibility of directly facing Verstappen, Norris stated: “I’m not afraid of Max at all, I’m excited to compete against him.

“People consider him one of the best, so I would like to prove myself by facing him as an equal.”

He expressed his enthusiasm for genuine competition on the track, aiming to showcase his racing skills by engaging in position battles rather than giving in to Verstappen’s superior speed.
