The 17-year-old Portuguese young man who is suspected of having incited massacres in schools in Brazil, self-mutilation and the beheading of animals via the Internet was in pre-trial detention. The arrest prevented the death and torture of a beggar.

This 17-year-old Portuguese young man was arrested on Wednesday and has already been heard by a judge from the Central Criminal Instruction Court who ordered him to preventive detention.

It is being investigated by four murder crimes (one completed and three attempted), for offenses against qualified physical integrity and incitement to hatred and violence.

He faces yet another trial for crimes of child pornography.

The young man’s lawyer, Paulo Azevedo, revealed to Rádio Renascença that the boy “refuted the facts in part, told the truth“. “He provided the appropriate clarifications that we understood would be best for him”, she pointed out.

The preventive detention will be carried out in Leiria Prison Establishment.

The young man was detained at his mother’s house in Santa Maria da Feirain the district of Aveiro, after allegedly inciting other young people to carry out four attacks on schools in Brazil.
