On Saturday (4), the last matches of the open Montenegrin Paralympic table tennis tournament took place with the doubles finals. Brazil won two gold medals, won by Bruna Alexandre and Daniel Rauen in the women’s doubles and Bruna with Paulo Salmin in the mixed doubles. Lucas Arabian and Letícia Lacerda won the silver medal together with their foreign partners, and Lucas Carvalho and Sofia Kelmer won the bronze medal together.

In mixed doubles XD 17 to 20, world champions Bruna Alexander and Paulo Salmin started the day in the semifinals, where they had a national duel against Lucas Carvalho and Sofia Kelmer. Bruna and Paulo were better in the confrontation, winning 3-0 on 4/11, 10/12 and 10/12, leaving Lucas and Sofia with the bronze medal. In the final, Bruna Alexander and Paulo Salmin beat Australians Na Li and Nathan Pelisser 3-2, 8/11, 12/10, 5/11, 11/8 and 11/7.

Bruna Alexander completed a doubles match at the Montenegro Open on Saturday, also playing in the WD20 women’s doubles alongside Danielle Rauen. Category fought in a single group. They played two matches on Saturday, starting with a comfortable 3-0 victory (3/11, 10/12 and 7/11) against Dutch side Anniek Van Holt and French side Lucie Hautier. They then faced defending Paralympic champions Na Li and Kian Yang of Australia. Bruna and Dani won the match 3-1, with a split of 14/12, 8/11, 11/8 and 11/9.

Podiums with foreigners

Two other Brazilian athletes reached the podium in doubles at the Montenegro Open in partnership with foreign athletes. Chileans Leticia Lacerda and Matias Pino won silver in the XD 14 mixed doubles. They lost 3-1 (9/11, 11/8, 6/11 and 8/11) to the French Clement Berthier and Morgen Caillot in the final. Lucas Arabian took silver in the XD10 mixed doubles after adding two wins in the singles group with four doubles.
