News that rapper Rick Ross’s private jet got stuck in a grass field after landing in Dallas on Thursday (2) quickly circulated online. Rumors that the plane “crashed in Dallas” were sharply amplified after Ross himself claimed on Twitter that his jet had crashed.

However, in email correspondence, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials redirected to an official statement about the incident, which said: “A Gulfstream G-5 business jet crashed its left main wheel into the grass while taxiing after landing at Arlington Municipal Airport in Texas at approximately 6:30 p.m. local time on Thursday, May 2. The FAA will investigate.”

The incident with Ross’ plane came almost a month after he mocked Drake’s private plane, suggesting it was old and that the singer should be careful the next time he uses it, US media reports.

On his Instagram Story, Rick Ross thanked everyone who expressed concern for his safety and softened his comments about Drake’s aircraft being obsolete. Ross was scheduled to perform twice at The Garden in Dallas, on Thursday, May 2, and Friday, May 3.
