A 24-year-old man suspected of being one of the perpetrators of the murder of the director of an indigenous school Tapeba was arrested, last Thursday (2), by the Civil Police in Caucaiathe same municipality where the crime occurred.
The temporary arrest and search and seizure warrants were served in the Jardim do Amor neighborhood. The agents located the suspect in a forest and collected a 38-caliber revolver, ammunition, cocaine, precision scales and two cell phones.
The suspect and the material were taken to the Caucaia Metropolitan Police Station. He was charged with drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm.
Arrest of principal
The man identified by the Police investigation as the person behind the educator’s death was arrested in the Pedreira neighborhood, in Caucaia, on March 27. He would be head of a criminal organization operating in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza (RMF).
Geraldo Barbosa da Silva Filho Tapeba, 41 years old, director of the Tapeba Indigenous School, was shot on a street in the city at the beginning of March this year. He succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
The murder would have been motivated because the educator was preventing the drug trade in indigenous teaching units.
