In a moment that should have been one of splendor and art, a spectacle turned into tragedy, forever marking the lives of Stefany Neves and her fellow artists. The fall from a height of 12 meters, during a performance in 2014, left Stefany and eight other people injured, some seriously.

At the time, Stefany was 19 years old. She was admitted in critical condition to a hospital in Rhode Island after the accident at a circus in the city of Providence. During a performance by the Hair Hang troupe, a platform broke when the Brazilian team created the “human chandelier” that lifted acrobats by their hair.

The members fell from a height of 12 meters and in the fall, Stefany fractured both heels, one of the femurs and a rib. The rib pierced the liver, causing internal bleeding.

The image of the shocking accident spread around the world, but for years, Stefany kept the details of this traumatic experience to herself. Now, a decade later, she decides to share her story of pain, resilience and hope.

Since that fateful night, Stefany has faced countless surgeries and medical complications, including cardiac arrest and a serious infection. Her mother, her safe haven, remained by her side, offering support and strength during every step of her recovery.

Despite the difficulties, Stefany found the courage to face the unimaginable. She is writing a book about her journey, sharing not just the dark moments but also the moments of triumph and hope.

The legal battle that followed the accident resulted in compensation, but for Stefany, the true value lies in her own ability to overcome. She became an example of resilience, inspiring others to find strength in the midst of adversity.

As she continues her journey of physical and emotional recovery, Stefany Neves is a powerful reminder that life can be unpredictable and challenging, but it can also be incredibly rewarding for those who have the courage to persevere.
