A head-on collision between two passenger vehicles left one person dead and three others injured, on Sunday afternoon (5), in Governador Valadares, in the Rio Doce region. According to the Fire Department, the crash was recorded on BR-259, at KM 152, close to Chácara Recanto dos Sonhos.
According to the military, there were two people in each vehicle at the time of the accident. One of them, whose identification was not released, died before being removed from the car. Another was stuck in the hardware and had to be rescued by firefighters before being taken to the hospital by a team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service.
Images released by the Fire Department reveal that the collision destroyed the front of both vehicles. Due to the impact, one of them overturned and needed to be stabilized to rescue the victims, who were taken to health units in the region.
The crash also caused an oil spill on the highway and the military used stone dust on the material to prevent further accidents.
The incident was recorded by the Military Highway Police (PMRv). The Civil Police also attended the scene to carry out the examination and release the body, which was sent to the Legal Medical Institute.
