Immigrant about the murder of STIP cadets by elderly people: It is the institution’s responsibility

Jakarta – The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Efendi, has opened up about the attack by an adult on his youngest son, Putu Satriya Ananta Rustica (19), at the Faculty of Maritime Sciences (STIP).

Muhajir said that the case of abuse is the responsibility of the competent institution, especially the student work department.

“We will analyze the case. Until now, it has been the responsibility of the institution, including when it comes to students, the administration is responsible for student affairs,” said Muhajir at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Monday, May 6, 2024.

The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Muhadjir Efendi, was present as a witness at the trial at the Constitutional Court.

Asked whether the government would intervene in STIP due to Putu’s death, Muhadjir said his party had no other plans.

“No, we haven’t gone that far yet,” he said.

It was earlier reported that the police named a senior student of the Institute of Sailing Sciences (STIP) with the initials TRS (21) as a suspect in the case of assault to death against a student named Puthu Satriya Ananta Rustica (19).

North Jakarta (Jakut) Police Chief Commissioner Gideon Arif Setyawan said that TRS was the only suspect who was one of the STIP Cilincing class 2 cadets.

“The victim is known as Putu Satriya Ananta Rustica, cadet class 1,” said Gidion at the North Jakarta Police Station on Saturday, May 4, 2024.

Gideon explained that the insult that led to Putu’s death happened on Friday, May 3, 2024. Gideon said the victim and four of his colleagues went for a walk.

Then, the victim and his colleagues were called by an adult, suspected of being a criminal, to warn them. They argued with Putu, who was still wearing sportswear.

Furthermore, they asked Putu to go to the bathroom on the 2nd floor, where Putu and his colleagues were queuing up. The victim was in front of his friends.

“After that, the victim hit the solar plexus five times with his fists clenched. Afterwards, the victim went limp and immediately fell to his feet,” Gideon said.

After that, the victim’s friends were asked to leave the bathroom and participate in training. Meanwhile, Putu was taken to the campus clinic and finally declared dead.
