A Mexican court ordered, this Wednesday (8), to indict the main suspect in the murder of two Australian surfers and an American in the state of Baja California (northwest) for the “disappearance” of people, the Public Ministry reported.

After a hearing in the town of Ensenada, where the three bodies were found on Friday, the MP announced that he will file charges against Jesús Gerardo “N”, known as “El Kekas”, for the murder of Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson, and his American friend Jack Carter.

The suspect was arrested hours after the crime against the surfers, who disappeared on April 27 while camping in a remote area of Santo Tomás, a Pacific resort belonging to Ensenada.

The MP pointed out that he is gathering evidence to charge two other people allegedly involved, who, for now, remain in prison for possession of methamphetamine.

According to the judicial body, the reason for the murder was the theft of a pickup truck belonging to the surfers, who were allegedly surprised by the criminals when they were camping and were shot in the head.

Jesús Gerardo “N” will be prosecuted for “disappearance committed by private individuals” and, “in relation to the homicide, the MP will also present the corresponding criminal charges”, the institution detailed in a statement.

The bodies of the Robinson brothers and their American friend were found in a well about 15 meters deep.

On Tuesday, the Ensenada forensic medicine service delivered the bodies to a funeral home, which will be in charge of transporting them to the United States, where the victims’ families are.
