International Exhibition “Memory – Totalitarianism in Europe” arrives in Trofa today –

International exhibition with free entry, at Paços do Concelho, from May 9th to June 9th.

With the purpose of honoring the victims of Nazism, communism and fascism in Europe and remembering the consequences of totalitarian regimes, the international exhibition “Memory – Totalitarianism in Europe” which has been traveling throughout Europe is on display, starting today at the Town Hall from Trofa.

For one month, the international exhibition can be visited between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm completely free of charge.

Aware of the issue, the municipality states that the objective is to “inform citizens, in particular the new generations, about the tragic totalitarian past in Europe, highlighting the importance of defending Human Rights, individual freedoms and guarantees, as well as, of democratic values ​​in society and a better understanding among all European citizens, preventing the emergence of undemocratic regimes”.

It should be noted that “Memória – Totalitarismo na Europa” has already been presented in more than 20 large cities in 19 countries, having arrived in Portugal in 2021 and is organized by Instituto + Liberdade.
