IT Exam | Hisense has new Mini LED TVs to experience the excitement of Euro 2024 (and beyond)

-

With the European Football Championship right around the corner, Hisense took the opportunity to reveal more about its renewed range of televisions. The brand, which is a sponsor of UEFA Euro 2024, also invests in household appliances and air conditioning solutions, presenting the main innovations in the Portuguese market.

As detailed in a presentation at the José Alvalade Stadium, in Lisbon, which Exame Informática had the opportunity to follow, in the TV segment the focus is, above all, on Mini Led technology. According to data provided by Hisense, its Mini LED TVs already have a ‘weight’ of 53.1% in the television market in Portugal.

The high-end models of the UXN series are highlighted among the new products and will be available from the second quarter of the year with prices starting at 2,199 euros. In addition to Mini LED X technology, which promises deeper blacks, brighter colors and images with more detail, the televisions in this range feature the Hi-View Engine processor.

Described as the ‘brain’ of new televisions, this processor is designed to optimize the viewing experience. The models that make up this series also include QuantumDot panels, with a maximum brightness of up to 5,000 nits and, with video game fans in mind, a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz in Game Mode Pro.

Still in the category of televisions with Mini Led technology, the U8N, U7N and U6N ranges will be available from this month, with prices starting at 1,599 euros, 929.99 euros and 769.99 euros, respectively.

Among the new Hisense TVs on the way to the Portuguese market are also options with QLED technology, such as the E7N Pro model, which promises to appeal to gamers. As for the more affordable options, the E7N, A7N and A5N televisions share the same technology. In the entry range, the A6N (UHD) and A4N (Smart TV) TVs are among the options highlighted by the brand, with the latter available in Portugal since April.

The models E7N Pro (from 749.99 euros), E7N (from 399.99 euros), A7N (from 499.99 euros), A6N (from 359.99 euros) and A5N (from 299.99 euros) will be available from May, with prices starting at 749.99 euros.

Climb onto the TV podium in Portugal

Currently, Hisense occupies third place on the ‘podium’ in the television market in Portugal. Citing data from GfK, the brand states that, by the end of March, it had a market share of 12.8% in value, a growth of 1.2 percentage points compared to the same period last year. The data also shows a 9% growth in units sold.

The ambition for the future is to continue to grow in this area and, speaking to Exame Informática, Pedro Santos, responsible for Hisense Iberia for Portugal, states that the strategy involves strengthening partnerships, investing in traditional retail and in spaces for experimenting with products to the public.

“I believe that on a sustainable basis, possibly in two years, we could be reaching number two and, perhaps in three/four years, possibly number one”, highlights the person in charge.

In terms of partnerships, Hisense has been making a name for itself in the field of sports since 2008, with sponsorships in multiple sports and major events. In Portugal and, by extension, in Europe, football is the ‘king sport’ and, in addition to sponsoring UEFA, the brand has advanced partnerships with local clubs, such as Sporting, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan. At an international level, there is also sponsorship of FIFA.

It is true that the connection to sport is one of the ‘driving forces’ in its growth strategy. But how do you maintain momentum outside of big sporting moments and events? For Hisense, the solution lies in partnerships with national brands, also serving as a way of getting closer to the consumer, highlights Pedro Santos.

Intelligence and connectivity in home appliances

But Hisense doesn’t just live on TVs. In the lineup for 2024 there are home appliances that promise to combine intelligence and connectivity to respond to consumers’ needs. The Cross Door RQ760N4IFE refrigerator and the S3 series washing machine models, both already available in Portugal, are highlighted in the new range.

Originally announced at the 2024 edition of CES, the Cross Door RQ760N4IFE refrigerator has a minimalist-inspired design and is priced at 799.99 euros. By connecting to the ConnectLife app, your touch screen comes to life, making it possible, for example, to send lists of missing foods to your smartphone, so you don’t forget anything on your shopping list.

The touch screen also allows you to access an inventory of available foods, look for inspiration for new recipes, write notes or reminders, as well as mirror the content being played on your smartphone.

For greater durability and energy savings, the refrigerator is equipped with an inverter motor. Total No Frost technology allows you to avoid the formation of ice in the refrigerator and freezer and, through My Fresh Choice, it is possible to adjust the temperature between +5º and -20º, to transform certain areas into a freezer or refrigerator.

The S3 series of washing machines has remote control features through the ConnectLife application, allowing you to receive notifications about the washing status and how long it takes to finish, as well as adjust the equipment settings.

The machines in this series are programmed to automatically detect the amount of laundry, then adjust the washing time with the Auto Wash Program. To avoid waste, the Auto Dosing functionality automatically doses the detergent and fabric softener.

Thinking about those with allergies or greater sensitivity, the Steam Function, certified by SGS Laboratories, eliminates 99.9% of bacteria and allergens, states the brand. The Hygiene Guard function helps keep the machine cleaner. The machines are equipped with Inverter motors which, in addition to being silent, offer greater durability and lower energy consumption, adjusting the speed to the load of laundry.

In air conditioning solutions, Hisense has an offer focused on options such as the Hi-Water water pump, as well as the Freshmaster, Energy Pro Plus and Comfort air conditioning models, with solutions designed to adapt to the different needs of consumers, without forgetting energy efficiency.
