Accident between trucks on MT highway

A man, identified as Valdeir Pereira da Silva, aged 56, died and one person was injured after an accident between two trucks on the BR-364, in Pedra Preta, 243 km from Cuiabá, this Wednesday (8). The victims have not yet been identified. Traffic was reopened around 5pm.

A video recorded by witnesses shows the two vehicles after the accident and agricultural cargo scattered around the scene. (Look above)

According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the victim’s wife, Roseni de Souza Braga, was rescued and taken with fractures to the Rondonópolis Regional Hospital. The victim was driving a cold chamber truck, when he lost control of the vehicle and collided head-on with a soybean trailer, which was stopped in the third lane of the highway. The driver allegedly got out of the vehicle to ask for help, after losing two tires.

Both vehicles were destroyed by the crash. Due to the accident, a long queue formed on both sides of the track.
