From today onwards, use your mobile phone to read shopping barcodes and find out if you are buying at the best price

Customers of Portuguese supermarkets can, from today, use their smartphone to read the barcodes of their purchases and find out if they are buying at the best price, through the new functionality of the supermarket price comparison platform Kabaz.pt: Barcode Search.

With this addition, Kabaz.pt users can now explore product prices directly and quickly, by scanning, with their smartphone’s camera, the barcode of items they find on supermarket shelves.

Inspired by the functionality already known in the KuantoKusta application, this new tool offers a simple and effective way to compare product prices in different supermarkets, directly from your cell phone.

“With just a few taps, consumers have immediate access to detailed information about the product, including its current price in various establishments. This functionality aims to empower consumers at the time of purchase, ensuring greater transparency of prices charged by Portuguese supermarkets”, highlights Pedro Pimenta, Head of Business at Kabaz.pt.
