The two accused of murdering Welinton Camargo, aged 25, and of trying to kill Gustavo Braun were identified by investigators from the Homicide Department, Civil Police of Cascavel (PR). The preventive arrest warrants were served on Tuesday (7).
According to the Civil Police, the suspects are a teenager and a young man, aged 15 and 18 respectively. The teenager was detained at the Centro de Socioeducação e Casa de Semiliberdade (CENSE), while the other offender is detained at the Thiago Borges de Carvalho State Penitentiary (PETBC).
THE CRIME
A young man aged approximately 25 was shot dead in the early hours of Thursday (29) on Rua Jacarepaguá, in the Interlagos neighborhood, in Cascavel. Another 21-year-old boy who was with him was also shot.
The two young people were on public roads when they were surprised by the shooter. They ran in different directions in an attempt to escape the gunfire. According to what was found by the CATVE Portal report, the person who fired the shots was in a burgundy-colored Volkswagen Golf.
One of the boys ran for about a kilometer to Rua Poente do Sol, where he asked for help. He was hit in both legs and was taken by Siate to the UPA (Emergency Care Unit) Tancredo Neves, with no risk of death.
Moments later, more shots were heard and the second victim was found lying on Rua Jacarepaguá. Siate’s doctor was called, but was only able to confirm the boy’s death, as he had holes in his head, chest and legs.
The crime scene was isolated by the Military Police until the arrival of the Scientific Police, who would carry out forensic work. The IML (Medico-Legal Institute) collected the victim’s body, which was without documents.
The PM and the Municipal Guard searched the region, but the perpetrators of the crime were not located. The investigation of the case is the responsibility of the Homicide Department.
