Australia’s George Kambosos Jr will take on Ukraine’s Vasiliy Lomachenko for the IBF lightweight pro-boxing title at the RAC Arena in Perth on Sunday.

The 30-year-old George Kambosos Jr is a former unified world champion while Vasiliy Lomachenko, 36, is a three-division world champion. Lomachenko also won gold medals at Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympics before turning pro in 2013.

The main card at the RAC Arena will start at 10:00 AEST while the George Kambosos Jr vs Vasiliy Lomachenko fight is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM AEST. The 12-round pro-boxing match will be available to watch live in Australia.

Kambosos defeated Teofimo Lopez for the IBF lightweight title and became a unified world champion in November 2021. However, his reign was ended by USA’s Devin Haney in January 2022.

Haney beat Kambosos in a rematch and vacated the title in 2023 to move up to the junior welterweight division.

Lomachenko is also coming into the fight having lost to Haney in May last year by a narrow margin. Meanwhile, Kambosos beat Maxi Hughes in his last fight in July.

Among other fights, Australia’s Andrew Moloney will face off against Mexico’s Pedro Guevara for the interim WBC junior bantamweight title. Another Aussie boxer Cherneka Johnson will be gunning for the WBA bantamweight title against UK’s Nina Hughes.
