National Tourism Day is celebrated on May 8th, an activity of significant importance for the development of other sectors such as leisure, gastronomy and accommodation, in addition to the generation of jobs directly or indirectly linked to the area.
According to the tourist demand survey in the state of Minas Gerais, the city of Ouro Preto is one of the most sought after destinations in the state and this data proves the hospitality of Ouro Preto residents and the historical richness that the city has.
The city holds an important collection of historical and cultural heritage from Brazil and Minas Gerais and this is one of the factors that attract tourists. But, in addition, the city is also home to several cultural attractions. Feast of Santa Rita

Location: Santa Rita District
Santa Rita de Ouro Preto is notorious for the religious fervor of the community in relation to Santa Rita de Cássia. The festival in honor of the saint, held on May 22nd, is marked by an incredible program and can be seen at: https://www.ouropreto.mg.gov.br/turismo/
The 17/05th features a show by singer Felipe Araújo and the 18/05th has the confirmed presence of Thiago Brava.
Mineiro Drum Festival

Location: Vila da Chapada (Lavras Novas)
The Festejo do Tambor Mineiro meeting takes place for the first time in Ouro Preto. This edition will feature the presence of renowned artists to celebrate the richness of Afro-Minas Gerais tradition and culture.
“Fado in Historic Cities”
Date: 05/24/2024 to 05/26/2024
Location: Alto das Dores, Praça Antônio Dias, Museu da Inconfidência
The event will promote significant meetings that strengthen cultural ties and highlight Portuguese, African and indigenous influences.

POP Theater Festival

Ouro Preto Gastronomic Festival

Location: Largo do Cinema
