ALDI lowers prices to stop inflation

-

As the founder of the discount concept, ALDI lowered the price of more than 200 essential items (food and non-food) under its own brand.

Already in force, this price reduction focuses on the items of greatest importance to the Portuguese consumer, that is, those that are most sought after for their day-to-day purchases, covering the categories of meat and fish, frozen, grocery, dairy, pastry, snacks, fresh and ready meals, household items, personal care products and much more.

Daniel da Silva, Managing Director Procurement at ALDI Portugal, highlights: “Based on our discount concept and the simplicity that characterizes us, we follow a strategy of optimizing and reducing operational costs, so that this is reflected in the low prices of our assortment throughout the year. This being our DNA, this new action appears as a reinforcement of savings, responding to the most immediate needs of the Portuguese”.

Since the beginning of the year, ALDI has been increasing savings options for its customers. In January, it launched the “STOP VAT” campaign to reinforce support for Portuguese families in the face of the end of the “zero VAT” measure, announced by the Government, where it discounted the value equal to VAT on more than 300 private label items. Following this, it also launched the “Semper a Encher” campaign, lowering prices again and guaranteeing the possibility for consumers to make a complete purchase and take home, for just €86.75, an economic basket made up of more than 50 products .
