Aldi announced that it will move forward with a price reduction on more than 200 essential items (food and non-food) under its own brand, maintaining its commitment to ensuring greater savings for Portuguese consumers in the face of the impact of inflation.

According to the press release, the discounts are already in force and are aimed at the items of greatest importance to the Portuguese, that is, explains the retailer, those that are most sought after in their day-to-day purchases, covering the categories of meat and fish, frozen, grocery, dairy, pastry, snacksfresh and ready meals, household items or personal hygiene products.

 

According to Daniel da Silva, Managing Director Procurement at Aldi Portugal, “based on our discount concept and the simplicity that characterizes us, we follow a strategy of optimization and reduction of operational costs, so that this is reflected in the low prices of our assortment. whole year. This being our DNA, this new action appears as a reinforcement of savings, responding to the most immediate needs of the Portuguese”.

In the same sense and, according to the press release, in January, the retailer launched the “STOP IVA” campaign, which aimed to support Portuguese families in the face of the end of the “zero VAT” measure, announced by the Government, having discounted the value equal to VAT on more than 300 private label items.

 

It also launched the “Semper a Filler” campaign, which consists of a new price reduction that guarantees the possibility for consumers to make a complete purchase and take home, for €86.75, an economic basket made up of more than 50 products, he said. the brand in a statement.
