Vogue 900DSX Vs. BMW F 900 GS: Which is the best option?

-

The arrival of the new Voge 900DSX in the medium adventure motorcycle segment is changing a category where the GS acronym still has enormous weight. Let us analyze the differences between the Vogue 900DSX and the BMW F 900 GS, in order to make your choice easier.

The arrival of the new Voge 900DSX on the market in 2024 was a breakthrough for the Asian company in the busy adventure segment. To do this, it uses the technique of offering a wide range of standard equipment, together with proven mechanics, shared with some of the previous BMW models.

For its part, the German company returns alone in 2024, presenting numerous technological innovations in its new F 900 GS, elevating it to all levels. In short, maintaining that premium product aura that the brand’s followers appreciate so much.

Voge 900 DSX

With the introduction of the new 900DSX, Voge makes a powerful statement that it can go further. But they also do, offering launch conditions virtually unbeatable by any of their rivals. With a launch price of 8,888 euros (plus a promotion on original aluminum luggage and top case “by Loboo” for €898 valid until May 31st), it could very well be one of the best-selling motorcycles in 2024.

BMW F 900 GS

On the other side we find the new F 900 GS, which undoubtedly cannot compete with the Chinese in price, but which in return offers us more than four decades of tradition under the GS acronym. If we add to this the good work of the Germans, it is clear that it will continue to enjoy a wide audience in the adventure segment, as has been the case until now.

Colors: Storm Black, São Paulo Yellow, Blue and GS Trophy Red

The most important thing when purchasing a motorcycle of this style is that it meets our initial expectations and in this aspect the new Voge 900DSX probably exceeds them in every way. Not a single bit has been spared in terms of equipment and finishes, which, in part, do not correspond to the initial price from which you start. This means that Voge has given its all in integrating the new 900DSX 2024 into the market.

In the cycling component, Voge is equipped with a fully adjustable suspension designed by Kayaba, while in braking it is Brembo who does its part to stop a package with a dry weight (without liquids and fuel) of 212 kg.

The set rests on 21- and 17-inch radial wheels, front and rear, respectively. These are shod with Pirelli Scorpion Rally 90/90-21 and 150/70-17 mixed tires.

If we talk about the mechanical section we find the well-known 895 cc in-line twin-cylinder, which also equips the new generation BMW F. The water-cooled DOHC engine, with four valves per cylinder and ignition interval of 270/450 degrees, offers 94.8 CV at 8,250 rpm and a declared torque of 95 Nm at 6,250 rpm, announcing a maximum speed of 200 km/h.

The new F 900 GS features numerous powerful innovations with improved off-road qualities, combined with a drastic weight reduction of 14 kg compared to the previous model. The steel frame integrates the engine as a supporting element and works in conjunction with a Showa suspension system, with an inverted front fork and rear monoshock. As with the 900DSX, Brembo does the braking, leaving the equipment anchored in 2.15 x 21″ and 4.25 x 17″ radial tires, shod with 90/90 R21 and 150/70 R17 tires.

With 226 kilograms in running order and with a full tank, the new F 900 GS is powered by an 895 cc in-line twin-cylinder, the same as its rival, although in this case with the power ‘stretched’ to 105 hp at 8,500 rpm and a declared torque of 93 Nm at 6,750 rpm. The brand announces an average consumption of 4.4 liters per 100 kilometers and a maximum speed of over 200 km/h.

Question of priority and availability

Once the main characteristics of both models have been explained, we begin to question which of these two motorcycles could be our ideal companion. If we go by the numbers, the 900DSX is, in general terms, probably the new benchmark in the sector.

There is no other model that, with equal equipment and features, offers the same for less money. However, not everything that matters is in the cold numbers and there will be those who prefer the German assembly for that halo of exclusivity, in addition to the good finish, qualities or reliability that surrounds all BMW products.

That’s why it all comes down to a simple question of priorities. If we assume that our savings allow us to access the Chinese or German motorcycle. Then personal tastes in terms of aesthetics, finish or ergonomics come into play. And that’s not debatable!
