“There are suspicions that this crime occurred within a context of dispute over gambling points held in Piracicaba and one of these points would be led by a criminal organization that is being investigated”, says MP prosecutor Aluísio Antônio Maciel Neto.

According to the Civil Police, the prisoners have mainly for crimes involving gambling. All are from Piracicaba (SP).

“We cannot, at this moment, emphasize the participation of each of them, because we need to evaluate this calmly, safely, with tranquility, so that we can affirm the responsibility of each of them”, says prosecutor Maciel Neto .

This Thursday morning (9), in addition to the temporary arrest warrants, 12 search and seizure warrants were served. Around R$792,000 in notes and checks, two weapons, a “significant amount” of ammunition, slot machines and other objects related to gambling and electronic devices were seized.

The Public Ministry and the Civil and Military Police fulfilled three temporary arrest warrants and 12 of search and seizure in Piracicaba (SP) this Thursday morning (9) related to the death of businessman Felipe Roberto Casale, shot dead in March of this year on Rua Edgar Conceição, Bairro Paulista.

Three people were arrested and will be presented to the Piracicaba Judicial Police. Among the material seized, there is money and at least two weapons, according to the 10th Special Actions Battalion (Baep) of the Piracicaba Military Police. The material will still be counted by the police.

The action is part of Operation Jogo da Vida and involved ten prosecutors, six civil police officers and 48 military police officers.

“The investigations will continue so that this crime can be completely elucidated, as it is not admissible in any society to execute people in broad daylight, in a central and busy area of ​​the city.”, says the note from the 2nd Public Prosecutor’s Office of Piracicaba.

37-year-old businessman Felipe Roberto Casale was shot dead on the afternoon of March 15, on a Friday, in Bairro Paulista in Piracicaba.

According to police information, two men, who were traveling on a motorcycle along Rua Edgar Conceição, shot the victim several times. The victim still got out of the car and tried to escape. The vehicle he was in was out of control until it hit a parked car.

The crime occurred around 2 pm and, until this Thursday, no one had been arrested.

Teams from the Military and Civil Police, forensics and the Municipal Department of Traffic and Transport of Piracicaba (Semuttran) went to the scene of the crime.

The section of the street where the crime occurred was closed for investigation work.
