The Gazette | Vila Velha records two murders in less than 4 hours in the same region

The night and early morning were filled with violence in the Vale Encantado and Santa Clara neighborhoods, located in the same region in Vila Velha. In an interval of three and a half hours, two murders were recorded in these locations, in addition to one person being shot: the first victim was at home, sleeping with his wife, when the residence was invaded by shooters; the second was a man collecting recyclable materials, killed with stones.

The first crime happened around 10:30 pm on Wednesday (8). Daniel Machado, 24, was sleeping with his wife when two hooded suspects broke down the door and shot him. The victim’s wife, who is pregnant, was not injured. As determined by reporter Caíque Verli, from TV Gazetathe young man was hit in the head and died right there, inside the room.

Still according to TV Gazeta, residents reported that criminals passed by shooting in the street, causing panic. More than 50 shots were heard. Another 24-year-old boy was shot in the waist near the invaded house and taken to hospital.

Hours later, at 2:30 in the morning, another murder happened nearby: a still unidentified man was killed with stones thrown to his head in the Santa Clara neighborhood, which is in the same region as Vale Encantado. According to witnesses, he was a collector of recyclable material and a drug user. Investigators from the Specialized Homicide and Personal Protection Division (DHPP) of Vila Velha circulated through the area this Thursday morning (9). The police are investigating whether the two cases are related.

In a statement, the Civil Police said that “the two cases will be investigated by the Vila Velha DHPP. To date, no suspects have been detained and details of the investigation will not be disclosed at this time.”
