After 36 years on air at TV Globo, Marcello Novaes is leaving the network. However, the farewell is being done in style, as the actor is currently on the air in the second season of JusticeGlobopaly original series, in the role of Egisto.
“I left, let’s say, with a flourish, in my last job at TV Globo”, he declared to the Notícias da TV website.
His debut on the network was in 1988, in the hit Anything goeswhich already has a confirmed remake, which will be written by Manuela Dias, the author of Justice. Even without a fixed contract with the broadcaster, Novaes revealed that he wants to work again with an author, of whom he has become a fan. “I hope she invites me again, because I admire her work.”
He also praised the script for his latest work at Globo. “Justice 2 is different because it’s not a sequel, it’s another story. I’ve rarely read a script where I said: ‘Wow, this looks like it’s going to be a huge success’. Or it’s a round text, easy to understand and surprising at the same time. This is very well done in Justice”.
Aegisthus is one of the villains of this second season of Justice. He is a former security guard who married Jordana (Paolla Oliveira). She is the heiress of a farmer and, together with her husband, runs a record company. The two are also accomplices in a murder that happens at the beginning of the plot. Halfway through, the couple’s story is crossed by Milena (Nanda Costa), an even more dangerous bandit.
Novais commented on the partnership he formed with both actresses. “Paolla is a particular friend of mine, she is an actress for whom I have great recognition, great admiration. It’s always great to work with Paolla. We had already worked with Nanda, who is a sweet person, a girl, but when she comes on the scene, she is a hurricane, she is literally a hurricane. So, I was very well fed with partners.”
