UA 62-year-old man was arrested by the Judiciary Police (PJ) on suspicion of having assaulted a 53-year-old woman to death in Vendas Novas.
In a statement sent to the News by the Minutethe PJ reveals that the crime occurred on February 9, the day the victim was found lifeless inside her residence, with injuries that show she had been “violently attacked to death”.
After a “set of investigations” that pointed to the suspect being the author of the facts and having acted “in a context of jealousy, given the close relationship that existed between them”, he was arrested and made a defendant.
The detainee has, however, been brought before the competent judicial authorities.
