“There was a previous homicide by his father that we will analyze, based on this investigation, whether there is any connection or not”, explained prosecutor Aluísio Antônio Maciel Neto.
Operation arrests three suspects involved in the death of a businessman in Piracicaba
The son was executed in the Paulista neighborhood. According to police information, two men, who were traveling on a motorcycle along Rua Edgar Conceição, executed the victim with several shots.
The father was killed in a bar located on Ruia Santa Cruz. At the time, the victim’s sister reported that an unknown person arrived on a motorcycle, stopped in front of the bar and, without removing his helmet, entered the establishment and fired the shots.
“And that [relação entre as duas mortes] which we will now analyze very calmly so that we can eventually see whether there is a link between the two facts or not, but this will all be evaluated at the appropriate time”, added the prosecutor.
Operation Jogo da Vida was carried out by the MP-SP in conjunction with the Civil Police and the 10th Special Actions Battalion of the Military Police (Baep).
O execution of three temporary arrest warrants and six search and seizure warrants mobilized 10 prosecutors, two delegates, four investigators, a clerk and 48 police officers.
The following seizures were recorded:
- Two weapons
- 172 ammunition
- Six firearm accessories
- R$310 thousand in cash
- Around R$492 thousand in checks
- Five slot machines
- 36 computer motherboards
- 215 cell phones without origin
- Two bags with dozens of slot machine keys
- Spreadsheets and various notes from the criminal organization
“There are suspicions that this crime occurred within a context of dispute over gambling points held in Piracicaba and one of these points would be led by a criminal organization that is being investigated”, says MP prosecutor Aluísio Antônio Maciel Neto.
According to the Civil Police, the prisoners have mainly for crimes involving gambling. All are from Piracicaba (SP).
“We cannot, at this moment, emphasize the participation of each of them, because we need to evaluate this calmly, safely, with tranquility, so that we can affirm the responsibility of each of them”, says prosecutor Maciel Neto .
The three people arrested were presented to the Piracicaba Judicial Police. “The investigations will continue so that this crime can be completely elucidated, as it is not admissible in any society to execute people in broad daylight, in a central and busy area of the city.”, says the note from the 2nd Public Prosecutor’s Office of Piracicaba.
