Harmony Montgomery, aged 5, died beaten by her father, Adam, in December 2019, in Manchester, New Hampshire, in the United States of America (USA). Adam, despite not being present at the time of his daughter’s birth, as he was in prison, requested custody of Harmony in December 2018, which was granted by the judge in February 2019. Montgomery had full custody of her daughter, however, this decision was contested and came under scrutiny.

The last time Harmony’s mother saw her was in 2019, via a FaceTime call. Following this, it was only in 2021 that the child was reported missing, when Crystal alerted the authorities. Although the mother reported her daughter missing in 2021, she had already died in 2019 at the hands of her father, although the child’s body has not yet been found.

For two years, Montgomery lied about his daughter’s whereabouts, thus also being guilty of assault, witness tampering, abuse of a corpse and falsifying evidence, according to court documents, as reported by CNN.

Kayla Montgomery, Montgomery’s ex-wife and Harmony’s stepmother, testified that the child’s body was hidden in the trunk of the car and in a freezer. In addition to these crimes, Kayla reports that she was also attacked by Adam, when he suspected he was going to report him, as reported by NBC Boston.

The ex-wife pleaded guilty to perjury in 2022 and is serving 18 months in prison, but was granted probation. During the trial, Kayla testified that the 5-year-old girl was beaten to death and that her body was placed in the trunk of the car.

The child’s father, who is serving a 33- to 67-year sentence for weapons possession, was sentenced to “45 years to life in prison” for murder and 11 years for witness tampering, falsifying evidence and second-degree assault, according to the “New York Daily News”.
