Among the main protagonists of this series, the website of Fame Show was also in conversation with Tiago Barroso, one of the faces that marked this most ‘rebellious’ era of fiction. The actor gave life to Pedro Silva Lobo, after his first experience in another successful series – Floribella.
Tiago Barroso points out that two returns – the artist is also back in the world of representation, nine years later. And, in the midst of this ‘happy coincidence’, there are many promises in store!
“I loved doing Rebelde Way because I could combine two worlds that I always liked”
One “very special meaning“. This is how the actor characterized the news of the series’ arrival on the streaming platform. streaming from SIC. After a few years away from acting, there is now a marriage of factors, between this return and the actor’s return to this area that has always been his passion.
“I have always maintained an artistic activity with music, but I always missed acting, where I worked for nine consecutive years. And at the beginning of this year I decided to return to acting, I went back to my agency where I was at the time I did Rebelde Way. It was at the beginning of the year, and it started to go very well with work and advertising.“, he began by saying.
“Then this news came out, about the return of Rebelde Way, and it really made me very happy to be returning in the year in which I myself decided to return to acting. It was almost a sign. A soap opera that I loved doing because it reconciled the two worlds – acting and music – that have always lived within me“, says the actor, emotionally.
And since music is one of Tiago Barroso’s passions, the artist tells us how these two areas are currently interconnected.
“I have a band and have been involved with music since I was 19 years old. And the passion never stopped. Currently, I continue to give more concerts from year to year. The band is called ‘Deixa Rola’, which at the time was created for a concept called ‘churrasquinho’, which were parties that took place at the Ferroviário bar“, he explains.
“And the parties were really a success, and we realized that there was a way to continue this band, with the classics of Brazilian music“.
From Floribella to Rebelde Way… and the ‘alleged cancellation’ of the series
Tiago had only recently been in the world of television fiction when, promptly, was challenged with a task that was not always easy – character deconstruction.

“Professionally it was very difficult because there was very little time on each project, but I was very happy to be able to do something completely different“, he highlights.
“I had received a lot of good feedback before, and then I got the role for Rebelde Way, and therefore I saw it as a huge challenge but also as an opportunity to show another side. It was lucky as an actor“, guarantees Tiago.
Regarding the supposed ending of Rebelde Way, the actor clarifies: “It ended up not going forward, but that also gave us experience and the other side. Of course we were sad, especially given the success it was already having… but it was because it didn’t have to happen. And our careers ended up continuing“.
Where have you been in recent years and what awaits you from now on?
A lot has happened during these last few years. In addition to having increased his family – Tiago is the father of Sebastian18 years old, Alicefrom nine and Mateus, of three – the projects were a constant. Even though the public exposure was different.
“In reality, I still did a lot. But these previous projects lived at a time when the level of exposure was different, nor was there streaming to compete with what was being done. There was much less crowd dispersion, and that was clearly an advantage“, account.
“But after this I even started working at RTP, some television films, documentaries, series… but, there it is. My first two projects as an actor were where I had the most exposure. And when I come across someone on the street who recognizes me, the association is mainly with Rebelde Way or Floribella. I think it will be for the rest of my life, and thank goodness!“
And, at a time when he returns, with work not only in advertising, but also in acting, the actor says he is fulfilled. Above all, for giving the missing step.
“I feel pleased to have taken the step to return to the agency [que o representa], to do it for this, to do it to return. Maybe that was precisely what was missing before“.
“I filled all my longings for acting with music. But I managed to realize that the music itself didn’t feed everything, that the longings were getting greater and greater… I had enough strength to take this step forward that I had to take myself.. And now, with this return, comes another chance to show my availability and say that I’m here“, he concludes.
