A The final of the Eurovision Song Contest is this Saturday, May 11th, with iolanda’s ‘Scream’ being heard in Malmö, Sweden (and across Europe).
In a statement, RTP recalls that this is the “fourth consecutive year” that Portugal reaches the final of the festival.
After iolanda’s song was “one of the 10 most voted songs in the 1st Eurovision semi-final” this year, on Saturday it will “to be present at the biggest international music event”, starting at 8pm (mainland Portugal time).
In addition to Portugal, in the first ‘wave’, themes from Serbia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Finland, Cyprus, Croatia, Ireland and Luxembourg were also chosen to advance to the final.
Second semi-final takes place today (and 10 more go on to the final)
This Thursday, May 9th, the second semi-final of the competition takes place. Sixteen songs take the stage, but only 10 make it to the grand final.

- Greece – ‘Zari’
- Switzerland – ‘The Code’
- Czech Republic – ‘Pedestal’
- Austria – ‘We Will Rave’

- Georgia – ‘Firefighter’
- Belgium – ‘Before the Party’s Over’
- Estonia – ‘(nendest) narkootikumidest hey tea me (küll) midagi’
- Israel – ‘Hurricane’
- Norway – ‘Ulveham’
- Netherlands – ‘Europe’
