O Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed the note of protest to Jmil, following statements issued by the director of the Belarusian Security Agency (KGB), Ivan Tertel, who stated on Thursday that security forces had recently managed to thwart a series of attacks with combat ‘drones’ (unmanned aircraft) launched from Lithuanian territory against infrastructures in Minsk and the surroundings of the Belarusian capital.

The Lithuanian Army indicated, however, that this was “false information”, which “has nothing to do with reality”, and urged the Belarusian Government to deny “this type of disinformation immediately”.

For their part, the Belarusian authorities assured that they continue to work to analyze the situation and provide more details about this type of attacks.
