Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Czechia or Estonia have had strange cases that could be much more than just consequences. That’s why NATO issued a warning

It grows slowly, but the tension between Europe and Russia is increasingly felt. Several secret service agencies on the Old Continent are warning countries about the possibility of a series of violent acts by Moscow, which continues to try to generate a permanent conflict with the West, undermining support for Ukraine.

According to the Financial Times newspaper, which cites secret sources in three European countries, Russia is preparing several violent acts, from computer sabotage to bomb attacks.

The British newspaper describes that, among the possibilities advanced by the secrets, there are bomb attacks and arson attacks, with European infrastructure being some of the main targets.

These attacks, according to secrets, can be carried out by direct order from Russia or through agents, given that Moscow has a strong network of influence in Europe, particularly in the Baltic countries, closer to its territory, but also in Germany or in the United Kingdom.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, the authorities emphasize that none of these attacks should be aimed at killing civilians, but rather at causing damage to infrastructure.

In a more or less official way, some of these concerns have already been made public: “We assess the risk of acts of sabotage by the State [russo] as having increased significantly”, said the director of German secrets, Thomas Haldenwang, at a conference organized by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution.

Words spoken two days after two citizens with dual German and Russian nationality were detained in Bavaria, in Bayreuth, on suspicion of planning attacks against military and logistical sites in Germany at the behest of Russia.

In parallel, two men were accused by the UK courts, back in April, of having set fire to a warehouse containing material that was going to be sent to Ukraine. British justice believes that both worked at the behest of the Russian government.

And it’s not just these two cases: there are a series of investigations underway in Sweden, Czechia and Estonia, many of them for interference in transport systems.

All of these countries are members of NATO, which may have motivated the Atlantic Alliance to issue a statement expressing great concern about the growth of “malign activities in allied territory”, in what was described as a “campaign that is intensifying in the Euro-Atlantic area”.
