The Vatican announced that Pope Francis’ visit to Timor-Leste in September will have the motto “May your faith be your culture”, the Timorese Government said today.
“May your faith be your culture” is an “exhortation to the Timorese people to live their faith in accordance with their culture and tradition”, explains, in a note on its official page, the Timorese executive.
The logo, which was also revealed on Wednesday, features the image of Pope Francis, in front of a globe, blessing the map of Timor-Leste.
In the note, the Timorese Government highlights that the Pope’s visit is “awaited with great expectation and represents a historic moment” for the country, which is “working hard” to prepare and organize the Supreme Pontiff’s trip to Dili.
In February, the Government of Timor-Leste authorized an expenditure of 12 million dollars (10.9 million euros) to organize activities in preparation for Pope Francis’ visit to Timor-Leste.
The Vatican announced in April that Pope Francis will pay a visit to Timor-Leste between September 9th and 11th.
Francisco’s trip takes place as part of a tour he will make in the region and also includes Indonesia, which he visits between September 3rd and 6th, Papua New Guinea, from the 6th to the 9th, and Singapore, from the 11th to the 13th of September.
