Manaus/AM – Espaço Casa das Artes, located at Rua José Clemente, 564, in the Center of Manaus, began its exhibition program in 2024. Five artistic proposals will be presented, including the languages of painting, collage, drawing, graffiti and photography. All exhibitions are free and will be open to the public from 3pm to 8pm, starting this Saturday (02), until the end of May.
Artist Polly D’Avila occupies room 1 of Casa das Artes with the exhibition “Infinitas”, which reflects an introspective phase of the artist, portraying the emotions and self-knowledge experienced by her in the last two years in paintings and collages.
The second room houses the exhibition “Tabular roots, a cry for life” by Samantha Karlia and Chiquinho D’Almeida. Visual arts teachers, in this proposal, portray original peoples in the face of deforestation and the direct consequences of these actions throughout the Amazon region through digital paintings.
In room 3, the Rosa Graffiti Collective Exhibition features works in small formats that expose the feelings, visions and imagination of the authors on canvas through graffiti. The group is made up of 24 female artists, aiming to celebrate and value the female figure within urban art.
In room 4, forty photographs by photographer Michael Dantas make up the “Secura” exhibition. The work brings records of the intense drought that hit the Amazon region in 2023, in an attentive and sensitive view of the professional.
Concluding the series of exhibitions, the works from the SAUDADE Collection, made up of four canvases, occupy the Corridor Space.
For the director of the cultural space, Cristóvão Coutinho, the bringing together of these 5 exhibitions refers to inclusion and diversity. “Casa das Artes, during this period, celebrates with 29 artists in a plural insertion, with 27 women participating, in contact with the public and their thoughts on art. Actions like this are very important for society as a whole”, highlighted Coutinho.
