Commercial events dressed as cultural always have a friendly face, even more so with prominent names involved. The Arquivo Contemporâneo store, in Ipanema, opened “The nature of each one”, curated by Christiane Laclau, with works by eight artists who, through very different languages and techniques, answer the question suggested by the curator: what is your nature ? “Nature plays a fundamental role in the cultures and identities of people and, throughout the history of art, it has been commented on by artists, always reflecting their perceptions, interpretations and personal connections with the natural world. In the exhibition, we brought new approaches under the vision of a group of artists in the 21st century”, says Laclau.
Among them, Andréa Lins with an imaginary garden in tiles, with collages inventing hybrid beings (trees and monsters) in warm colors that refer to the high temperatures of the backlands; The paintings by Alberto Saraiva, artist and current director of Parque Lage, mix dialogues with the history of art and natural landscapes; in Esther Bonder’s landscapes, there is intensity between colors and layers of light; Marina Ribas portrays fertility and the origin of life, and so on. André Sheik, the Gelli Sisters (Alice and Gabi) and Maria Gabriela Rodrigues also participate.
