After being the target of vandalism, the statue in honor of Daniel Alves, located in Juazeiro, will be removed by order of the Public Ministry of Bahia, based on legal issues related to public assets.
According to information, the municipal administration sent copies of Administrative Process No. 295/2019, Auction No. 137/2019 and payment processes related to the acquisition of the statue of Daniel Alves to the MP, which confirm that it is a public asset acquired with resources public. Therefore, it is not permitted to honor a living person with public goods.
It is worth mentioning that Juazeiro city hall had already been approached by activists, who requested the removal of the monument of tribute, especially after the scandals involving the experienced player, who was accused of attacking a 23-year-old woman in a nightclub in Suton, in December 2022.
It is important to mention that Dani Alves was recently detained, but is on provisional release awaiting a new decision from the Barcelona Court in relation to the appeal presented.
