Municipal Gallery of Corroios receives exhibition by Ms.Ketam

The exhibition features six mixed media works without canvas by the Seixalense native, where red and blue colors stand out.

The works are phenomenal.

Ketam’s story, represented in the new exhibition “INSPIRATIO”, dates back to the summer of 1998. It was at that time that the artist decided to venture into the world of graffiti, in the format of more complex calligraphed inscriptions or paintings in public spaces, where he used the walls and created an intentional language to interfere in the city, a relationship that it maintains to this day.

The Seixalense is known for manipulating and working with various materials and supports, such as scenography for shows, including screens, helmets, boards, furniture, motorbikes, cars and everything that the imagination can reach.

As part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of April 25, 1974, the “INSPIRATIO” exhibition will open this Saturday, May 4, at 5 pm, at the Corroios Municipal Gallery. There, there will be six works by Ms.Ketam where red and blue colors predominate.

“Ultimately, it is a journey between two worlds in this landscape that surrounds us and embraces us daily. An invocation to the tagides, nymphs of the Tagus who invite us to immerse ourselves in nature and the wilder side of our Tagus. Like the tide that comes and goes, we too, as species in this estuary, leave and return, day after day, to our refuge”, reveals the artist.

All works will be on view until June 15th, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 3 pm to 7 pm. Entry is free, so you can go with your family and enjoy the county’s art without having to pay anything.

A journey between two worlds.

“The Seixal City Council conceives of culture as a public service that ensures everyone’s right to access, creation and enjoyment, as an essential element in the formation of awareness of sovereignty and the diversity of humanity’s identity, dialoguing, as equals, with all the peoples of the world, with the immense potential for freedom, transformation and resistance and, like the emancipation of work, forming an essential part of the heritage of the future”, concludes the president of the Seixal City Council, Paulo Silva.
