There were those who climbed to the top of the Chinese Wall and those who descended to the depths of the seas. And there was space to “eternalize” different cultures and exotic species. The photographs, for all tastes, arrived from all over the world, thus fulfilling the objective of the first edition of the “U.Porto Alumni around the World” competitionpromoted by the Alumni Center of the University of Porto.

With this initiative, the aim was to “promote the image of the University of Porto at an international level”, through the eyes of those who, according to the organization, are “the protagonists of our University: the students who chose the U.Porto to carry out their studies and who carry the name of the University to other countries where they reside, work or vacation”.

The more than 100 photographs received were evaluated by a jury created for this purpose, according to criteria such as originality and creativity, the emblematic context/site and technical quality.

The first prize was awarded to Catarina Soeirostudent at the Faculty of Fine Arts (FBAUP), with a photo that illustrates fishing activity on the island of Sal, in Cape Verde.
